A woman accused of plotting to have her husband killed will have to wait a bit longer to hear her fate.
Petina Coetzee, 44, of Kenilworth, made an appearance at the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Her case was postponed to February 21 for further investigation.
Petina, who was released on R30 000 bail last October, handed herself over to Lansdowne cops in December.
This after she contravened her bail conditions when she contacted her husband Austin, 67.
After being granted bail, Petina, who runs a shop that takes identity document photos outside a Home Affairs office in the city, was ordered to surrender her passport and report to the Elsies River Police Station daily, as well as not to make contact with state witnesses.
She had made contact with Austin on December 2, just before her court appearance.
Petina was charged with conspiracy to commit murder after allegedly ordering a hit on her elderly husband and offered to pay a hitman R200 000.
Police initially nabbed her in a sting operation at Lansdowne train station in October after she handed an undisclosed amount of money to an officer pretending to be a “hitman”.
Petina has two sons, aged 16 and 20, who live with the couple at their home.
She will remain in custody until her case is finalised.
