Randy Tango, 31, is expected to make his third appearance at the Mitchells Plain Magistrates’ Court today where he is facing charges of rape, kidnapping and murder.
After the brutal murder of 11-year-old Stacha, the Mitchells Plain Crisis Forum was formed.
For weeks the forum has been appealing for signatures for the petition against Tango’s release on bail.
The forum’s Joanie Fredericks says a march is being planned from Stacha’s home at 8 Matroosberg Street, Tafelsig at 7.30am today.
The community will carry out a protest outside court.
Joanie says
4 432 signatures have already been collected.
“The signatures are to oppose bail for Randy Tango who is applying for bail,” she says.
“This is to show the justice system that we are not OK that perpetrators want to come back to our community.
“The time has arrived to stand up to rapists, murderers and abusers...
“We say that monsters such as Randy Tango will not get bail because we the people find them not fit enough to live in society again.”
KILLED: Stacha, 11
Tango was released on parole in October for car theft and his mother previously revealed he had in the past been accused of statutory rape of a 16-year-old girl, but that the case was withdrawn.
Last month top cop sources revealed Tango allegedly confessed to the killing.
Stacha disappeared on 27 March while watching movies at a friend’s home in Matroosberg Street.
The next day, her naked and battered body was found dumped on a soccer field in Swartklip Road.
