Police have confirmed that the body of Stacha Arends, 11, was found during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Stacha was reportedly last seen alive in Mitchells Plain Town Centre at 2pm on Monday afternoon.
She was reported missing on Monday evening and a search was conducted.
Her body was discovered in a bushy area behind the Swartklip Indoor Sports Centre, in Tafelsig, just after 2am on Tuesday morning.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana confirmed the discovery and said the matter is still under investigation.
"An 11-year-old girl was reported missing on 27 March 2017 at 19:35 and a search was conducted. Her body was found this morning (Tuesday at) about 02:10 in a bushy area behind Swartklip Centre, Mitchells Plain," says Rwexana.
"No one has been arrested at this stage found this stage. Circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation. We appeal to the community anyone with more information that can assist with the investigation."
