So while you are considering your next step in life, be sure to check them out. As for the here and now, if the Class of 2025 are to improve on the 87.3 percent pass rate achieved by the Class of 2024, then these tips are sure to come in handy.

Good luck to all the learners and their families, whose support they will undoubtedly need over the next month or so.

GETTING STARTED

1. Plan your study sessions

The earlier you start, the better. Don’t leave things for the last minute – it often adds to stress.

2. Set goals

Targets help us get a sense of achievement at the end of each session.

3. Identify your strengths and weaknesses

Knowing which subjects require more attention than others, allows you to spend more time on your weaknesses.

SELECTED TIPS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

1. Teach your concepts to anyone who will listen.

2. Your brain learns well with colours and pictures. Try to use them.

3. Repetition is the key to retaining information you have to learn.

4. Use Mnemonics: Create a word out of what you read and have each letter stand for something else. Example: BEST (B is for Bible, E for Energy, S for Sugar and T for time).

ON THE DAY OF THE EXAM

1. Get a headstart by packing your bag with everything you need the night before.

2. Make sure you arrive early to make use of the extra time.
