SOCIAL media is going bos after South African DJ and producer Nkosinathi Maphumulo, popularly known as Black Coffee, has bought one of the most expensive homes in South Africa, nestled in Nettleton Road in Clifton, Cape Town.

The road is regarded as the country’s most exclusive street, and the luxury house sold for a whopping R157 500 000 a short while back.

That’s R158 million ladies and gentlemen.

Nettle Road is often called the most expensive street in South Africa, given its natural beauty and easy access to other parts of Cape Town. The road slopes up Lion's Head mountain, and is known as the pinnacle of luxury living.

It was reported that the home sold to a company owned solely by Black Coffee. The alleged acquisition has come shortly after Black Coffee’s high-profile divorce from his ex-wife, Enhle Mbali.

Once the news of the sale hit social media, netizens had their say, and it was all pretty.

@gee_khalifa commented: “R160m and your neighbors can see you in the kitchen making a smoothie …this money should take you in the most excluded farm or estate.”

@jimmy_soot_said: "Wow congratulations to him, its nice to see our local people buy those properties, they mostly bought by Europeans.”

The design of the home allows for the abundance of natural light which is amplified by way of the double-volume entertainment area.

@chelamashego commented: “It was actually a smart move by Black coffee to move R157 million away from getting chased by a woman with another man, smart move. He knows he doesn’t “own” the company so he’s safe. He got himself some good lawyers I see.”

This luxurious property features its own cinema, gym, and elevator, along with five en-suite bedrooms, each offering sweeping views and a private balcony.

There are parking bays for five cars as well as two self-contained staff quarters. The home is also temperature-controlled throughout - ideal for those balmy days or when the south-easter howls across the peninsula.
