POLICE have tracked down and arrested Khayelitsha’s eie Medicine Man.
The 42-year-old man from Zimbabwe verkoop glo net medicine aan his “fellow countrymen”, with his hele “pharmacy” found stashed under his bed.
A statement released by the South African Police Service (SAPS) yesterday read: “Operation Shanela II received intelligence of suspected illegal activity taking place at an address in Ilitha Park, Khayelitsha.
“The members found a 42-year-old Zimbabwean male in the house. And during the search, they found large quantities of medicine hidden under the bed.
“The suspect admitted that he sells the medicine to his fellow countrymen. He was then arrested for Contravention of Medicine and related substances Act 101 of 1995.
“The suspect is detained at Harare SAPS, and once charged, he will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s court.”
It was a bedrywige day for the boys in blue, with two jongmanne from Mitchells Plain arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The cop statement said of the 20 and 22 year olds: “The suspects were stopped during a stop and search operation.
“They had a 9mm pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition in their possession. Both suspects will appear in the Mitchells Plain Magistrates court, once charged.”
Nog ‘n outjie was caught with an unlicensed firearm with an 18-year-old laaitie hiding in a toilet in Elsies River when cops swooped.
A separate statement from the police read: “Upon arrival [at a residence in Totuisdal Court in Clarke Estate], [Anti-Gang Unit members] found an 18 year old male hiding in the bathroom. They searched the premises and found a black 9mm pistol without a serial number, one magazine and twelve rounds of live ammunition…”
