MEDIA personality Tamara Snow is trading the mic to help people find their forever home.

Tamara is well known as co-host on Good Hope FM’s The Great Drive alongside Kyeezi and popular for her tagline when reading the news and traffic.

The mother to an eleven-month-old son started her career in radio during her teens 20 years ago at Bush radio and worked ten years at Good Hope FM and seven years as a presenter on The Great Drive.

She had her last show last Monday in an emotional send-off, before joining Halo Properties as a rental agent.

Tamara said: "I had my last show on air on Monday and I was in my feels. I knew that there was no way that I was going to keep the floodgates closed.

"I knew I was going to shed some tears because radio has been a part of shaping who I am - I grew up behind that mic.

"I was so humbled by all the love and support and well wishes I received. It was a tough show but such a beautiful send-off.”

She said that she was introduced to the property sector by her dad, who is in the industry and while growing up would help him out "here and there".

She explained: “I have been in property for four years now. It is an exciting and busy industry.

"I love it because I get to meet so many new, different and interesting people and I quite literally get to help them find their next home and that is such a fulfilling feeling.

"I absolutely love the entertainment industry, but it was time for me to move on. This will give me a little more time to spend with my son. It is important that I make this move at this time, as sad as it is."

Masi Mdingane, Good Hope FM and 5FM's Business Manager said: "Tamara is a consummate professional and an absolute ray of light to be around.

"She has been in radio for 20 years, and we've been privileged to have her at Good Hope FM for a full decade - seven years of which she brought her magic and warmth to The Great Drive.

"She played a great part in the show's growth in popularity and we honour her as part of our family. We will miss her electric spark greatly, but we celebrate her new chapter with her and wish her every success.”

However it is not the last listeners will hear from her, as she will be helping with news on a standby basis.
