THE family of Breyton Morgan, 23, wants justice after he was shot multiple times inside a car at a petrol station in Eerste River at the weekend and later succumbed to his injuries.
Morgan was with a group of friends at the Total Garage in Beverley Park filling the car with petrol.
He was seated inside the vehicle when an unknown gunman came and opened multiple shots on the group.
The driver managed to drive to the nearest medical facility where Morgan was declared dead. Two other passengers were also shot and injured during the incident.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that the matter is under investigation, saying: “Kleinvlei police are investigating a murder and two attempted murder cases following a shooting on the corner of the R102 and Stratford Avenue, Beverley Park, Eerste River, in the early hours of Saturday morning, 18 October 2025.
“Police members were called to the crime scene and upon arrival on the scene the victims were taken to a medical facility for treatment.
“A 24-year-old victim was declared deceased at the medical facility, while the other victims 16 and 20 are receiving treatment.
“The motive for the attack is yet to be determined. The suspect/s fled the scene and are yet to be arrested.”
Nathan Adams said that they don’t know why his brother was gunned down, as he was not a gangster.
The hartseer brother explained: “They were at the garage throwing in petrol.
“While they were waiting, a guy came from across the street and started shooting at the car but mostly on his side, they also shot and wounded the driver.
“The driver drove to Eerste River Day Hospital but I think Breyton passed away on their way to the day hospital.
“We got a phone call to say that they were shot and we immediately rushed to the Day Hospital.
“They are innocent people, there are no gangsters involved. Breyton had a job.
They shot him about eight times, they also shot him in the back.
“He was the middle brother of three children and now we are just two. This is a big loss for our family especially for my mother who was very fond of him.
“I am hurt to know our brother was innocent and lost his life in this manner.”
