DISFIGURED: Manenberg meisie, 3, was struck in the face

AFTER a brutal attack on her three-year-old daughter by a klipgooier, a Manenberg mom is out for justice.
Ashca Francis, 26, told the Daily Voice that she and her meisie Carla, 3, were standing in front of their door when a teen threw a stone that struck the little girl innie gesig on 13 October.
Carla was knocked cold and covered with blood from the gash on her face. Following a number of surgeries, the meisie is too skaam to show her disfigured face.
An emotional Ashca told the Daily Voice that when she saw the boys before the attack, she told them not to throw stones in the neighbourhood.
But one outjie was sterkgevriet, with Ashca explaining: “His friends stepped back and he walked last and as he threw the stone he told me to voetsek and it hit my daughter in the face.“
She collapsed in my arms. And as she fell backwards, I just caught her and she was lights out.
The only thing I saw was blood on my vest and I thought I was gonna lose her.“
The stone struck Carla on her cheekbone and she was rushed to Heideveld Day Hospital and thereafter transferred to Red Cross Memorial Children's Hospital for four nights.”
The traumatised minor’s eye was swollen and blue. She has received stitches and has to undergo further surgery for an eye specialist to determine whether she sustained any damages behind her eyeball.
The accused Imtiyaaz Simons, 18, appeared in the Athlone Magistrate's Court on 4 November and was released on bail of R800.
The ma said it made her hartseer as she wants him to be punished for what he did to her daughter and is afraid as he still roams around the area.
She added: “He still said ‘hulle kan 10 sake maak, dit worry nie vir my.
“His mother told me that I have to go and speak to the detective to withdraw the case and then they will give me R1 000.
“But money isn’t everything that is not going to bring her face back to normal and she is just a baby.
"She covers her face because she doesn’t want to be around people.”
Manenberg SAPS station commander Jayce Naidoo confirmed the incident following the attack and said: “This office can confirm that cas 205/10/2025 has been registered on the 13 October 2025.
“The case is an assault (Grievous Bodiy Harm) after a three-year-old girl and her 26-year-old mother was injured during a stone throwing in Cam Road, Manenberg.
"The three-year-old girl was hospitalised and treated for her injuries.”
