MANENBERG crime fighters stumbled upon the body of woman in the early hours of Wednesday morning as they chased a suspected stolen vehicle.
Police made a shocking discovery on Oliver Tambo Avenue when they spotted something behind a grey electric box in Tambo Village.
Upon inspection they found an unidentified vrou with multiple gunshot wounds to her legs and neck at around 2.55am.
Police spokesperson Constable Ndakhe Gwala confirmed that the circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation.
Gwala reported: “Manenberg Police are investigating a case of murder following the discovery of a body at Oliver Tambo Avenue, Tambo Village.
On Wednesday, 12 November 2025 at approximately 02:55, members were chasing a suspected stolen vehicle.
“As they entered Oliver Tambo avenue, they spotted a body of a woman behind a grey electric box."
In a separate shooting incident around 5am, a man was shot and killed in Katberg Road, Heideveld in what is believed to be a gang-related incident.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed that Manenberg police registered a murder case for investigation.
Van Wyk said: “The circumstances surrounding a shooting incident early [Wednesday] morning at 05:00 in Katberg Road, Heideveld, where a 20-year-old male was shot and fatally wounded are under investigation.
“According to reports the victim was walking in Katberg Road when several shots were fired at him. He collapsed and succumbed due to a fatal gunshot wounds to his upper body. No arrest has been made.”
