COPS are appealing with mense to trace a female linked to the murder of a male who attempted to sell his phone a week before his wedding in September.

Police spokesperson Constable Ndakhe Gwala reports that Grassy Park police are appealing to the public to assist them in tracing Ashiekah Naidoo who they believe can assist them with their investigation.

Gwala said: “The 23-year-old could be of assistance in the murder case of Mogamat Yusuf Daniels who was robbed and murdered in September 2025 while trying to sell his cellular telephone.”

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with Mogamat Yusuf’s murder.

Morte Nelson made a brief court appearance at the Wynberg Magistrate's Court on 28 October, while her co-accused Monray Martin missed court because he was in hospital under police guard after being shot in the incident.

The pair are facing charges of murder following the death of Mogamat Yusuf, who was shot on 24 September after he was set up in a Facebook Marketplace scam.

He planned to sell the phone for funds for his wedding planned for the following week.

At the time of the incident two girls contacted him and arranged to meet Mogamat Yusuf at a garage in Ottery, however things took a turn for the worst.

His uncle, Abduragman Jacobs told the Daily Voice: “I am pleased and happy that a wanted poster was made to inform the public of the girl, who I believe is the alleged mastermind of the murder.

“She got away and she has been on the run for nearly two months, but finally the police made an effort with the crime unit to catch her.

“Now we just wait on a response from the public and the media so that she can stand trial for the murder where she was the alleged mastermind for everything.

“She will be caught, they will catch her, finally.”

The case was postponed to 19 November for Nelson to give financial instructions to her lawyer for her bail application and for the court to hear when Martin will be able to physically appear in court.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is kindly requested to contact the investigating officer Detective Sergeant Sicelo Bongashe on 083 392 0673, alternatively call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

Mogamat Yusuf Daniels, 29. was shot and killed.
