A BELOVED daughter and mother of a three-year-old meisie was shot dead in Bonteheuwel on Saturday in what is believed to be a planned hit after she got a call to meet someone in the area.

Tharwah Bazier, 26, was shot in the back of her head around 5.40pm, with police spokesperson Wesley Twigg explaining: “A 27-year-old female was shot and fatally wounded near a supermarket in Jakkalsvlei Avenue, Bonteheuwel.

“According to reports the victim was walking in the road when a male walked up to her and shot her.

“The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the back of her head and was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel.”

Twigg added that the suspect fled the scene and is yet to be arrested while the motive for the incident forms part of the police investigation.

Bazier’s father told the Daily Voice that he was not holding up as she died while they weren’t on speaking terms.

He added that he doesn’t know what to tell her three-year-old daughter.

Bazier’s father said: “She was the love of my life, I loved her so much and I know she loved me. She had a good life, but she just mixed up with the wrong people.

“I don’t know what to tell her daughter anymore, she keeps asking if I am going to fetch her mommy and she keeps asking the same questions, ‘where is Tharwah, why is she taking so long.’ I can’t handle this really, it is too much.”

According to Daily Voice sources Bazier is the ex-girlfriend of bandiet Kyle du Toit, who made headlines after he was gevang taking a seflie with a motjie who visited him in Pollsmoor.

The sources further stated that she was very much connected to gangsters.

Ward councillor Angus McKenzie has extended his heartfelt condolences to Tharwah’s family, friends and loved ones during this time.

McKenzie says: “It must be made very clear: this was an isolated, gang-related incident. The victim was not a resident of Bonteheuwel, and the perpetrator was known to her. This was not random, nor does it reflect on the people of our community.

“I must also commend our law enforcement officers who were first on the scene, ensuring immediate response and maintaining calm in our community.

“Their visibility and swift action continue to show that Bonteheuwel will not be left vulnerable to criminals.”
