The Proteas Women also made headlines by reaching a second consecutive ICC T20 World Cup final. At youth level, the SA U19 Women reached their first ICC T20 World Cup final in Malaysia.
Contenders for Women’s Player of the Year include Annerie Dercksen, Marizanne Kapp, Nonkululeko Mlaba, and Laura Wolvaardt – each having made groot contributions during an exceptional season for the women’s game.
The awards will also shine a spotlight on domestic successes. The Lions defended their T20 Challenge title and shared the four-day series crown with the Titans, while the Dolphins lifted the One-Day Cup.
In the women’s competitions, Western Province retained the Pro20 title, while the Lions won the Pro50 tournament, as the SA20 continued to showcase Mzansi’s rising T20 stars.
CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki said: “The CSA Awards are a celebration of excellence, perseverance and the undeniable spirit of South African cricket.
“This past season, we witnessed history being made and barriers being broken, from our senior national teams reaching unprecedented global finals to our youth and domestic teams continuing to set the bar higher.”
The Pathway Awards will celebrate youth talent and unsung heroes driving the game in SA.
