STORMERS coach John Dobson has roped in Springbok ysters Damian Willemse and Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu in a starting team sporting 10 changes for Friday's 8.45pm United Rugby Championship (URC) game against Scarlets in Llanelli.
Fresh from helping the Boks win the Rugby Championship, Willemse and Feinberg-Mnogmezulu find themselves starting Friday's game at fullback and flyhalf respectively.
Jurie Mathee, No.10 in the Stormers’ home wins against Leinster and Ospreys, drops to the bench, Wandisile Simelane moves from fullback to outside centre, while Stormers captain Ruhan Nel will wear the No.12 jersey.
Dan du Plessis also drops out of the matchday squad with Dobson opting for a six-two split on the bench.
The starting forward pack has a vrag changes as loosies Paul de Villiers and Ben-Jason Dixon start, while locks JD Schickerling and Ruben van Heerden fill the second row. Dobson also picked a new starting front row of props Ali Vermaak and Sazi Sandi, as well as hooker JJ Kotze.
The Stormers bench welcomes back Deon Fourie, who will look to provide impact.
Of bringing in the big guns and chasing a third win and first one on tour, Dobson wysed: “It has been an encouraging start to the season and we are determined to build on that in this first tour game.
“To get a home playoff we have to win away and we know our touring record [is not good]. So we have to go out there and make a statement.”
The Kaapse span are unbeaten in four previous meetings with Scarlets.
However, Dobson knows it will be dom to underestimate the Welsh outfit, and added: “Scarlets have taken us deep into both the games we won here previously.
“That makes tomorrow night [Friday] very important. In a league like this, which is a marathon, every game is important if you want to host playoffs.
“We know that everyone will have to be on their game for this one for us to continue the winning momentum on the road.”
