A TOTAL of six Springboks were included in World Rugby’s Dream Team for 2025.
Newly-crowned World Player of the Year Malcolm Marx is one third of an all-Bok front-row alongside Ox Nche and Thomas du Toit.
Young flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu is the pivot in the world team, with Cheslin Kolbe selected on the wing.
The final SA player to make the team is flank Pieter-Steph du Toit.
Of the players getting recognised in the Dream Team, SA Rugby’s Mark Alexander wysed: “I’d like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to Malcolm, Pieter-Steph, Ox, Thomas, Sacha and Cheslin on behalf of SA Rugby and the entire country for being named in the Dream Team.
“They have all played exceptionally well this season and deserve this honour.
“Being named in this team is a massive achievement, especially since it consists of the best players throughout the world. To see six Springboks included is a testament to the quality of players we have in South Africa... ”
The Boks will, however, be without their superstars when they take the field against Wales in what will be their final match of the year.
Their top guns have returned to their local clubs for domestic action.
And therefore, scrum coach Daan Human wants his charges to forget about what they achieved to date.
Asked whether he looks forward to the new pack – which will be named tomorrow – dominating like the forwards did in the scrums in last weekend’s 24-13 win over Ireland, Human was philosophical.
Human said: “My father always says, don’t tell me what you are going to do, tell me what you’ve done, so we’ll see what happens.”
With those words, Human sent a strong warning to Wales and that is that the world champions are out to make a statement.
