LIVERPOOL'S 16-year-old rising star Rio Ngumoha stole the show in a 3-1 win over Yokohama F. Marinos, capping the match with a jitz solo goal on Wednesday.
Introduced in the second half, the teenage winger impressed with his pace and flair on the left flank, before cutting inside to score his first senior goal in the final minutes .
The friendly in Japan also saw Liverpool’s record signing Florian Wirtz net his first goal for the club, while fellow newcomer Hugo Ekitike made his debut. Young midfielder Trey Nyoni scored Liverpool’s second goal.
Manager Arne Slot named a strong span, but the Reds were swak in the first half. Yokohama took the lead after the break, but Liverpool's substitutes shifted momentum.
Curtis Jones helped create Wirtz’s equaliser, and Jeremie Frimpong provided the assist for Nyoni. Ngumoha’s late solo effort sealed a promising win.
