BAFANA Bafana must klap Rwanda at Mbombela Stadium at 6pm on Tuesday and hope Nigeria beat or draw with Benin to qualify for next year’s World Cup.
Currently second on the standings in Group C, South Africa will leapfrog Benin if results go their way in the final round.
And striker Lyle Foster is confident that things could pan out positively for SA.
After playing to a 0-0 draw against Zimbabwe last week, Foster wysed: “There’s no reason to feel despondent.
“If there’s nothing to play for [against Rwanda], or no chance at all, I’d understand, but there still wouldn’t be a reason to feel despondent.
“There’s still so much to play for.”
The Burnley striker was spotted limping off the field against Zimbabwe, but says he will be ready to fire for coach Hugo Broos’ span on Tuesday.
Foster added: “I feel okay. It obviously wasn’t the result that we wanted against Zimbabwe. We believed we would get a different result, but it wasn’t to be.
“But I think it’s how it goes sometimes. I think we played really well. But I think the mood in the camp is still good. I think we know it’s still far from over.
“We play a significant game on Tuesday. If we achieve a good result there and everything aligns for us, it’s all about maintaining our focus.”
