MANCHESTER United leftback Luke Shaw says they are expecting a hostile reception at Anfield against Liverpool on Sunday at 5.30pm.

Sunday’s clash will be the 100th between United and their fierce rivals at Anfield, with the Red Devils looking to lift themselves off 10th place on the standings, while second-placed Liverpool will look to win their sixth match in eight outings this term.

Matches between United and Liverpool are more than just a game – especially in the Mother City – with both teams enjoying big support innie Kaap

Shaw says they will feel the hostility at Anfield also, saying of the big game on the team’s website: “You really feel it. Of course, not just when you’re in the stadium, but leading into the stadium.

“You go along a one-way road kind of thing and the bus is there, and there are a lot of fans outside. It really is hostile.

“As players, you kind of enjoy that moment, you know, it really feels like a big game then.”

Liverpool, meanwhile, will bank on their home support at the Kop, with Cody Gakpo saying of their fans: “It’s a very special place. It’s a very special club with amazing people working here and [we have] amazing supporters who support us every step of the way. I couldn’t wish for any better team.”
