LIVERPOOL are kniediep innie moeilikheid after suffering their fourth Premier League defeat in a row on Saturday.
Coach Arne Slot’s span were beaten 3-2 at Brentford, with Dango Ouattara volleying home the opening goal for the hosts in the fifth minute before Kevin Schade doubled the Bees’ lead on the break in the 45th minute.
Milos Kerkez tapped one in for the Reds to make it 2-1 in the 50th minute, before an Igor Thiago penalty on the hour made it 3-1.
A Mo Salah volley in the 89th minute made it 3-2. Coming hot on the heels of a first defeat against Manchester United at Anfield since 2016, Liverpool suddenly look more vulnerable than at any time during Slot’s reign and have already lost as many league games this season as in their hele title-winning campaign.
Most alarming for Liverpool fans is Slot’s admission that he has no answers to the pressure being applied to his crumbling defence by opponents’ direct tactics.
Slot wysed: “Teams seem to have a certain playing style against us, which is a very good strategy to play, and we haven’t found an answer yet.
“You cannot even compete, which we don’t do at the moment, because we simply concede too many goals.
“It definitely also has to do with if you change quite a lot during the summer, then I think it’s not a surprise that it can go a bit like this. But I didn’t expect it to go with four losses in a row, let that be clear.”
