CRISTIANO Ronaldo says there isn’t a miracle cure to the troubles at former club Manchester United.

Speaking on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show, CR7 said he feels “sad” about the current state of his old span, which he still considers “one of the most important clubs in the world”.

Ronaldo praised coach Ruben Amorim’s efforts – having guided United to within two points of second place in the Premier League after 10 games – but stressed that no coach can succeed without proper foundations.

Ronaldo wysed: “He is doing his best. What are you going to do? Miracles. Miracles are impossible. We say in Portugal, ‘Miracles is only in Fatima... ’

“And he’s not going to do miracles.

“They have good players but they don’t have, some of them, in mind what Manchester United is.”

Despite recent restructuring under co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos – who now oversee football operations – as well as the arrival of director of football Jason Wilcox, Ronaldo remains unconvinced.

He acknowledged the focus on young talent, such as Leny Yoro and Benjamin Sesko, but argued that the club still lacks a clear vision.

Ronaldo added: “You have to follow the intelligent, smart people, to create a base for the future as Manchester United have [done] so many years ago.

“Nicky Butt, Gary [Neville], Roy Keane, [David] Beckham, they became big players, but they had youth. So Manchester United right now, they don’t have a structure.”

Asked if he still looks out for United results and if he gets hurt when they lose, Ronaldo replied: “Of course. Of course. I repeat, Manchester United is still in my heart. I love that club.”
