MANCHESTER City yster Phil Foden is back to his best and it spells trouble for Premier League champions Liverpool ahead of Sunday’s 6.30pm blockbuster at the Etihad Stadium.

Foden was on fire in the Champions League on Wednesday, klapping a double as Manchester City beat Borussia Dortmund 4-1.

Hotshot Erling Haaland was also on target, while Rayan Cherki got the Citizens’ other goal.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are also coming off a groot win, after beating Real Madrid 1-0 in their Champions League match on Tuesday.

And with a single point separating the two teams in second and third place in the Premier League, with City on 19 points and the Reds on 18 after 10 matches, the table couldn’t be set any better for this mouthwatering affair.

Chasing Arsenal, who have 25 points at the top of the standings and are facing fourth-placed Sunderland at the Stadium of Light at 7.30pm on Saturday, Foden is just happy that he is starting to wys some form again.

After also setting up a goal for City in their 3-1 win over Bournemouth last weekend, he is quoted by the club’s website as saying when asked if he is enjoying his football: “Yeah loving it! I just need to play with a smile on my face which I’m doing.

“Last year was tough not just for me but for everyone. There’s a new togetherness this season and you can tell today, Dortmund caused us some problems, they’re a great team.

“We stuck at the game plan and broke them down.

Reds captain Virgil van Dijk and his spanmaats will have to be op hulle hoede for Foden die naweek.

Weekend’s Premier League fixtures:

Saturday: Spurs v Man Utd (2.30pm), Everton v Fulham, West Ham v Burnley (both 5pm), Sunderland v Arsenal (7.30pm), Chelseas v Wolves (10pm)
