RAHEEM Sterling and his family were victims of an attempted home burglary on Saturday while they were inside their property.

The incident took place around 9pm, roughly an hour before Chelsea’s Premier League match against Wolves at Stamford Bridge.

Police confirmed that masked diewe tried to break into Sterling’s home, but the intruders fled without stealing anything after realising the house was occupied.

Fortunately, Sterling, 30, his partner Paige Milian, and their laaities were unharmed.

A spokesperson for Sterling told the UK’s Daily Mail: “We can confirm that Raheem Sterling was the victim of a home break-in this weekend.

“We can also confirm that he and his children were present at home at the time.

“Whilst the ultimate violation of privacy and safety, we are thankful to be able to confirm that he and his loved ones are all safe. We ask that the privacy of Raheem and his loved ones be respected at this challenging time.”

A source quoted by the UK’s Mirror said: “He [Sterling] grabbed a knife out of a block in the kitchen and went to confront the intruders. It was acting on pure adrenaline, but it worked.

“There was a group of them upstairs in masks and they were obviously looking around for any valuables yet again. But this time they made off when they realised that Raheem was at home and he confronted them”.

This is not the first time the former Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal yster has suffered such a crime. In 2022, Sterling’s home in Cobham was raided while he was representing England at the World Cup in Qatar.

During that burglary, around £300 000 (R6.7 million) worth of jewellery and watches were stolen while his family were inside, prompting him to fly home from the tournament.
