ARSENAL have the chance to reach their first Wembley final in six years when they host Chelsea at 10pm on Tuesday in the second leg of their League Cup semi-final.

The Gunners take a slender 3-2 advantage into the Emirates Stadium clash after an entertaining first leg at Stamford Bridge three weeks ago.

While Arsenal’s form dipped briefly after that win, they looked back to their best at the weekend, sweeping aside Leeds 4-0 in the Premier League.

Chelsea also arrive with renewed confidence following a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over West Ham.

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior admits Arsenal are favourites, but believes his span can make life difficult.

Rosenior wysed: “The reality is Arsenal are favourites for the tie. They’re a goal up, they’re at home so they’ll expect to go through. We need to take it as far as we can and as deep as we can and then the second half, hopefully, will be massive in terms of turning the tie around.”

Rosenior also refused to put a timescale on Estevao’s return to action for Chelsea after he was granted compassionate leave to travel to his native Brazil.

Meanwhile, Mikel Merino who has been a valuable contributor in midfield and attack for the Gunners, could miss the rest of the season with a fractured right foot that requires surgery.

The loss of Merino has been softened by the return to fitness of Germany forward Kai Havertz.

There was further good news for Arsenal as manager Mikel Arteta revealed an injury that kept England winger Bukayo Saka out of Saturday’s win at Leeds is only minor.

Arteta said: “Today, he [Saka] was better. Let’s see how he responds. It doesn’t look like something too serious.

“Whether he is available for tomorrow [Tuesday] or the weekend, we will have to wait and see.”
