Tylon Smith and Muzomuhle Khanyi were both among the winners at the 2024-25 PSL awards ceremony on Tuesday

TYLON Smith, who recently left Stellenbosch FC to join Queens Park Rangers in England, and Muzomuhle Khanyi, a new signing ahead of the upcoming campaign, were both among the winners at the 2024-25 PSL awards ceremony on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old centre back Smith earned the Diski Challenge’s highest individual honour after being named Player of the Season.

Khanyi, meanwhile, took home both the Motsepe Foundation Championship Top Scorer and Players’ Player of the Season awards in recognition of his geharde performances for Hungry Lions FC last season.

The former South Africa youth international scored an impressive 18 league goals in the second division before completing a transfer to Stellies last month.

Elsewhere, a clean sweep for Mamelodi Sundowns’ Lucas Ribeiro saw him win the Player of the Season, voted by the 16 Premiership coaches, Players’ Player of the Season, Goal of the Season, ahead of ex Stellies yster Fawaaz Basadien, and leading league scorer awards.
