This Belhar chef is whipping his food back and forth.
But Randall Maarman, 36, is not your ordinary cook.
The dad of two can also rock the mic, as he has proven with his debut song and music video called Whip It Up, where he lays down some dope lyrics on a cooking track.
Randall says he has always dreamed big and hopes to be an inspiration to the youth.
“I want them to see what I’m doing, and this is to show that nothing is impossible, all bad circumstances can be beaten,” he says.
Entertainment runs in his blood, Randall is the brother of actress Carmen Maarman, who stars as Soraya Samsodien in Marc Lottering’s hit show, Aunty Merle: It’s A Girl, currently on at the Baxter Theatre.

The creative cook studied to be a chef at Northlink college in 2006 and in the same year was given the opportunity to travel to Florida, USA, where he worked on a larney golf estate for six months.
In 2010 he came back home and once again grabbed the opportunities coming his way.
“I just got home and then I got another opportunity to work on a cruiseliner,” says Randall.
“Then another journey began and I got to work as a chef and travel the world for a year on board the well-known ship, the Queen Victoria.
“I travelled to Mexico, Hawaii, Amsterdam, England, New York, Venice in Italy, Santorini in Greece, Spain and so much more.”

The well-travelled chef then decided to start his own catering business.
“Being from Belharl, things weren’t easy where opportunities are concerned, every day was lived by faith, but I had a strong drive and ambition to make it big.”
Randall is a hot favourite among local celebs such as Emo and Loukmaan Adams, Marc Lottering, Lara Foot, the CEO of the Baxter, and he also caters for City Varsity’s annual Indaba, event among others.
The Whip It Up video was shot at a friend’s house in Parow and his good friend, actor Christian Bennett, also puts in an appearance as Randall, dressed in an apron and black tie, sings about all the lekker food he can dish up.
“Seeing that I love music, I decided to write a song, and it’s about how good I am with my cooking and catering skills,” he explains.
He sings: “In the kitchen is where I’m at, cooking up a storm, never looking back.
“So now you know that the table is set, come to me to get your appetite whet.”
