PRINCE Harry is set to return to the U.K. early next month, raising hopes for a potential reconciliation with his estranged father, King Charles III.

The news come as the family marks the 32-year commemoration of the death of their Princess Diana, the princes’ mother and Charles’ ex.

This visit holds particular significance as it will be the Duke of Sussex's first face-to-face meeting with the King since February 2024 - just days after Charles' public announcement regarding his ongoing cancer treatment.

Harry, who is 40, will be in London for the annual WellChild Awards on 8 September - an engagement close to his heart, reflecting his commitment to supporting children facing long-term health challenges.

Notably absent from this trip will be his wife Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie, aged 6, and Princess Lilibet, aged 4.

Their absence leaves Harry with the chance to reconnect with family, should they make time for him.

The days surrounding the awards could offer an opportunity for Harry to visit Balmoral Castle in Scotland, where King Charles is expected to be, if he receives an invitation.

However, the royal family has remained tight-lipped about extending such an offer to Harry, creating an air of uncertainty that surrounds their strained relationships.

Past attempts at family gatherings have seen Harry and William in the same space, but not interacting.

From the funeral of Harry’s uncle to recent official events, the broers have not spoken in years.

Their rift, thrust into the spotlight following Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back from royal duties in California, widened significantly with explosive revelations in Harry’s best-selling memoir, Spare, which included allegations of physical confrontations and harsh critiques of both his father and stepmother, Queen Camilla.

In May, during a heartfelt admission to the media, Harry opened up about his hartseer caused by the rift in his family, expressing concerns over his father's health—“I don’t know how much longer my father has,” he stated.

Many insiders say that the King, facing his own health struggles, is hesitant to take the first step towards mending these critical familial ties, despite many believing he should.

While there is talk about Harry and Charles looking to make their peace, dinge with boeta William are far from great.
