GAYTON McKenzie has called out “jaloerse” mense and “slange” within the Patriotic Alliance.
The Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture took to Facebook Live from his visit to Abu Dhabi to talk about people jostling for positions of power within the organisation.
Without naming names, he said: “To build something is not easy and that’s why I’m speaking from the heart today.
“Some of you joined the PA because you wanted a job.
“Some of you joined because you wanted to be close to Gayton or Kenny [Kunene].
“Some of you joined the PA because you want to be seen - it’s fashionable, you are seen on Facebook and Twitter.
“But you don’t understand, the road is long.
“In the PA, you will suffer sometimes.
“You guys must live right with each other. You must respect people.
“So I want to say today, that you guys argue over rubbish. You argue about positions - we don’t even have power yet.
“Now if you’re already arguing like this over this secretary, this chairman. There is no power here in the PA.
“You are jealous of people want jy het maar ‘n jaloers gees. As jy praat is dit net skinner.
“Stop this nonsense and serve each other.
“You know, I understand loyalty. Loyalty is in my blood. People criticise me for being loyal to President Cyril Ramaphosa. It’s because I’m loyal. Loyal to the Office of the Presidency. Ek is nie ‘n slang nie.”
He added his voice to the chorus of calls to deploy the army to gang-affected communities.
McKenzie said: “In our communities, families are dealing with death every day. It’s a curse. A curse on coloured people. We are trying to break that curse. The majority of those people are being killed by coloureds.
“We want the army. Even if we have to bring this country to a standstill. The army must be brought in because of these killings.”
