'Kardashians' star Lamar Odon arrested for dronkbestuur

FORMER Keeping Up With The Kardashians bad boy Lamar Odom was arrested and charged for driving gesuip (DUI) in Las Vegas.

The 46-year-old former basketball star was gevang in the early hours of Saturday morning on a DUI charge and two traffic violations, court records show.

Lamar, who was previously married to reality star Khloe Kardashian, is accused of driving more than 60km/h over the speed limit and making an improper lane change.

The former LA Lakers star - who was previously arrested for DUI in 2013 - has been open about his struggles with drug and alcohol addiction and almost lost his life after overdosing on cocaine, alcohol and dagga at a Las Vegas brothel in 2015.

Writing about the ordeal in his 2019 book Darkness to Light, Odom wrote: “My heart stopped two times. I had 12 seizures and six strokes. My lungs collapsed and my kidneys ruptured. I was on life support. Everyone I’d ever loved was looking at me through bleary eyes.

“(The overdose) made me realise I couldn’t live the way I’d been living.”

Lamar married Khloe after just one month of dating in 2009 but The Kardashians star knew she had to file for divorce vier jaar later following a “pivotal moment” during a conversation when the sports star was in the grip of addiction.

Speaking on her Khloe in Wonderland podcast last year, the 41-year-old star said: I knew that his addiction always heightened - he was in the NBA - and his addiction always heightened when he was in the off-season, cause idle time is the devil’s playground.

“It took me a long time to get to [a decision], then I had to file for divorce.”
