Rapper AKA Rapper AKA
You’ve seen him posing with bottles of Cruz Vodka on TV. He’s also partnered with sports brand Reebok.
Now rapper AKA has taken his merchandising business to a whole new level by launching his own cellphone, the AKA Model A Smartphone.
The Mitchells Plain-born star announced the release of the phone last week, which comes with a surprise for fans - his latest album Touch My Blood (TMB), pre-loaded on it.
The 31-year-old posted on Instagram account @akaworldwide: “Since we hit double platinum for TMB, I’ve decided to package some really cool smartphones for my FANS with the album embedded on the device. For more info check out @takealotcom. (sic)”

The smartphone is already on the market and currently retails for R2 999 online.
For that modest price, the features include: a 5-inch display screen; an Android 8 operating system, storage capacity of 16GB; 2 megapixel front camera and 5 megapixel rear camera; dual sim and a 12-month warranty.

The black “sleek and beautiful design” is signed by the rapper on the back. Pretty standard stuff. Not really what you’d expect Supa Mega to flash around.
In fact, just days after the launch of his Model A, AKA shared an Instagram picture in which he can be seen holding his trusty iPhone.
