Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has been spotted trying to escape from Pretoria Central Prison.
Looking scruffy, and in cuffs, the bearded and bespectacled actor was seen in photos making the rounds on social media and news feeds.
But moenie worry nie, Harry Potter didn’t go rogue.
Radcliffe is actually in Adelaide, Australia, shooting for his latest movie, Escape from Pretoria.
He plays real life South African political prisoner, Tim Jenkins, who was held in Pretoria Central maximum security prison in the late 1970s.
Jenkins was charged with “producing and distributing 18 different pamphlets on behalf of banned organisations” including the ANC, SACP and Umkhonto we Sizwe, between 1975 and 1978.
After being arrested, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
But in 1979, Jenkins, along with fellow inmates Alex Moumbaris and Stephen Lee, staged a daring escape.
