The Voice SA Blind Auditions ended on Sunday and now the hard work begins.
In a surprise move, producers have added one more spot to each of the four teams.
So instead of mentoring 12 vocalists, rapper Ricky Rick, Afro-soul diva LIRA, singer-songwriter Riana Nel and rock star Francois van Coke will now each take 13 talents to the KnockOuts stage.
And once again, Cape Town made the most of this opportunity, scooping three of the new spots.
Anslin Gysman, 22, a payroll officer and backing vocalist from Kuils River, chose coach Francois even though Riana turned for him almost immediately.

“The Blind Auditions put me in a place where I was forced to explore a different side of me,” says Anslin.
“I had to learn to work with many people and cope with various personalities. However, it was fruitful.”
Tye Platinum, 33, from Ravensmead performed the Ringo Madlingozi classic Sondela, which earned him four chair turns, and he opted for Riky.
“I’ve been performing on various stages for 16 years, but the thrill of being on TV is so different, that feeling of being filmed while trying to deliver your best performance is quite scary,” he says.

Riky was also happy when the final contestant, the 24-year-old singing waitress from Cape Town, Nikita Williams, chose him after she blew judges away with Lady Gaga’s You And I.
“Save the best for last!” Riky commented happily.
Next up are the KnockOut rounds, which boast a brand new format and is a world first for The Voice, but all will be revealed next Sunday, so stay tuned!
