CHOICES: Singer Demi Lovato shared a picture of her smoking a bong

Demi Lovato has gone to pot.

The 28-year-old singer was in high spirits when she showed off her bong on Instagram.

Images of her chilling at the sea included the song California Sober, a track from her recent album dedicated to her decision to drink alcohol and smoke weed “in moderation”.

The troubled star, who had a near-fatal overdose last year, explained her choice to not remain stone cold sober in the doccie Dancing With The Devil.

Saying she’s “done with the stuff that’s going to kill me”, the singer backtracked: “Telling myself that I can never have a drink or smoke marijuana, I feel like that’s setting myself up for failure because I am such a black-and-white thinker.

“I had it drilled into my head for so many years that one drink was equivalent to a crack pipe.”

But she cautioned that mense shouldn’t copy her moves: “Recovery isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution.

“I also don't want people to hear that and think that they can go out and try having a drink or smoking a joint, you know? Because it isn’t for everybody.

“You shouldn’t be forced to get sober if you’re not ready. You shouldn’t get sober for other people. You have to do it for yourself.”

However, in the documentary, she says her friends don’t approve of her choices.

DRUG DRAMAS: Demi, 28

Manager Scooter Braun said: “Demi knows the whole moderation thing isn’t something I totally agree with.

“What I’ve learned with the whole addiction thing is if I push her to do what I want, I push her away.

“I can’t control her. What I can do is be a friend and hope that she’s right.”

Sir Elton John also rekked: “Sorry - if you drink, you’re going to drink more. If you take a pill, you’re going to take another one. You either do it or you don’t.”

In 2018, Demi was rushed to hospital by ambulance after a drug overdose following a relapse after six years of sobriety.

Her friend and former assistant Jordan Jackson – who found her unconscious – says it “[scares] me now to know that she isn’t sober”.
