Suidooster’s Tim ties knot with GHFM’s Danilo Acquisto

Radio host Danilo Acquisto has married his sweetheart Marco Spaumer in a romantic ceremony on Saturday.
Acquisto first shot to fame as a child presenter on Hectic Nine-9 while working at UCT Radio where he was completing his Law and Sociology degrees.
He is currently hosting the Hit 30 show on Good Hope FM.
Spaumer is best known for playing the skirk Tim in Suidooster.
The couple had dated for eight years and got engaged in July 2023.
Danilo says: “Our meeting story is cute. Marco actually reached out to me on Twitter [now X] after he had watched me on TV and knew I was interested in entrepreneurship... we arranged a coffee at Sandton City and from the time our eyes met we just knew, this was more.”
The couple, both 33, are originally from Johannesburg but moved to Cape Town to pursue their careers.
The loving grooms got married at the NG Moederkerk in Stellenbosch and had their reception at KleinBlouKlip Farm outside Stellenbosch with 170 guests.
Their entourage of six were made up of Danilo’s brother, best friend and cousin, while Spaumer had his twin brother and two friends next to him.
Danilo explains: “We called our reception a wed-stival to bring together a wedding and the feeling of a festival.
“The reception was so untraditional that it blew everyone away without losing the joy of the moment. Our journey was not easy to get here and God showed up in so many ways and my cheeks are now sore from smiling.”
Marco adds: “You can plan and prepare for the life that you want [in this case the wedding you want] but ultimately, it is love and the people around you that makes it come to life. It was the most special day of our lives.”
The couple says they plan to honeymoon in Budapest, Japan or South America, just as soon as Marco finishes his Psychology undergraduate degree this year.
