This Mitchells Plain pro dancer wants to re-invest his skills into his community by starting a dance school.
Tafelsig dad of three, Shamieg George, says he wants to keep youngsters away from crime and gangsterism by giving them a healthy outlet for their youthful energy.
Shamieg, 28, spent the past 21 years sharpening his craft and has appeared in various music videos, concerts and festivals, such as the Cape Town Festival, Wynberg Festival and the DStv Festival.
He is also a firm favourite at the annual Sactwu Spring Queen event.
Now he would like to give back to his community by sharing his knowledge of dance through his academy, called Young Believers.
“I always had the desire to enrich my community through arts. I knew this was what I wanted to do, but I needed to wait for the right time.
“In my community, gangsterism, crime, drugs and poverty rules.
“Why not try to break the generational curse by instilling something fun in these kids, they only grow up with what they see surrounding them.
“Young Believers are here to make a change.”
Shamieg’s classes will be held at 33 Katberg Street, Searidge Park every Saturday. Registration opens on 13 February from 11am to noon.
