She’s the queen of hearts and this weekend, Cape singing sensation Amy Jones will be performing at the HeartFM Music Festival.
The 25-year-old songbird from Paarl currently has no fewer than FIVE singles playing on radio stations across South Africa, and is getting ready to release her latest song which is promising to be a big hit and might get noticed internationally.
“My latest single, titled Get a Little, has been getting radio traction and downloads online.
“I’m currently working on a new single and it might not just be released in South Africa alone,” Amy says, without going into detail.
“I can’t elaborate on it much at this point, but all I can say is that the sky is not even the limit.”
Amy’s current singles on radio include Sunrise, Burn, Forget the Day, You&Me and her latest contribution, Get a Little.
“The next single will be released more or less by mid-February to beginning March. And it’ll be available on all digital platforms for downloads.”
Her song with Cinimin has reached number 4 on the KFM Top 40 chart since it was released in June.
Amy hit the spotlight in 2013 when she made the top 16 of Idols SA that year.
She’s been a busy bee since then and the full-time singer says she is too focused on her soaring career to make time for a boyfriend.
“I find myself performing most weekends; that’s if I’m not in studio or wri- ting songs. I honestly don’t have time for anything else,” she says.
“I’m so focused on my career there’s no time right now for relationships, as I would never be able to give it my full attention.
“All I really have time for and I make it a priority, is God, my family and friends, and releasing good music.”
She’s on the line-up at the HeartFM Music Festival this weekend.
