A local gospel sensation is making big moves on the airwaves.
Mitchells Plain singer Shana Ray has embarked on her first collaboration with a fresh new duo, House Detox aka DJ 6Teen and Advocate P.
Together they released a new song called Favor in August.
Shana, who previously reached the Top 3 of the TRACE Gospel Music Video Competition, says she is still amazed at the attention her song is getting.
The song was so kwaai, it instantly made the charts of radio stations, including commercial radio and CCFM.
“The song was an instant hit as it went on three different charts in its first week of release.
“Favor went to the number one spot on the CCFM Top10 chart ,” says the excited singer.
Shana, 29, says the song was written to motivate mense to get their lives back.
“Covid-19 robbed many people of jobs and their loved ones but this song will allow the listener to declare favour over every situation no matter how dark it seems.
“We are so grateful for the amazing support we have received and want to thank the public for voting for our song in these charts.”
Shana’s mom is also a gospel singer and Shana is a worship leader at her church.
