"PRIVATE school" amapiano pioneer Kelvin Momo will bring his seductive grooves to the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF).
Known for hits like Umalukatsi, Mang Dakiwe and Ska Bhaile, Momo continues to elevate Amapiano beyond the dancefloor, making it a genre of global appeal.
Momo heads the final phase of artist announcements, as the latest additions to an already phenomenal lineup is being completed for the two-day festival at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) on 25 and 26 April 2025.
Also joining Momo on one of the four world-class stages at Africa’s Grandest Gathering is Ivan Mazuze.
The masterful saxophonist and composer whose music seamlessly fuses African rhythms and contemporary jazz explores of African traditions intertwined with Arab and Indian musical elements.
Keeping the sounds global, Russia’s most celebrated jazz saxophonist Igor Butman will lead his quartet, with dynamic stage presence which has earned him international acclaim.
Returning to the CTIJF stage is The Brother Moves On - the boundary-pushing performance art collective from Johannesburg that blends avant-garde experimentation with powerful social commentary.
Their sound fuses psychedelic rock, free jazz, and African rhythms, making them one of the most exciting and thought-provoking acts in contemporary South African music.
Each new artist announcement has fuelled ticket sales, with weekend passes now almost sold out. There are still limited tickets available for both Friday and Saturday night performances, but they are selling fast.
