Singer Jarrad Ricketts teamed up with Things on Wheels and Inspiration Network on Saturday to feed 500 hungry children.
The feeding scheme was set up in Epping Forest in Elsies River where they served warm bowls of chicken curry and rice.
Jarrad was roped in by the mom of Craig Lucas.
Jennifer Lucas works with Inspired Networks and prepared the food with the ingredients Jarrad donated.
She says: “I’ve seen the good work Jarrad is doing in communities and so I approached him to come on board.
BLESS: Jarrad feeding the kids in Elsies
"Jarrad gave the ingredients to make the food and also brought party packets for the kids.”
Jarrad fed the kids but also worked his magic as he sang and motivated the youth and adults.
Ten soup kitchens in the community were identified as recipients of food grocery packs, which include lentils, soup mix, maize meal, rice, split peas, carrots and potatoes with loaves of bread.
Inspired Network distributed 200 loaves of bread and fruit packs to adults.

Jarrad said: “When God calls you to do his work, you must answer.
“Seeing all the children walk with big smiles on their faces and restored hope in their heart is a visual that will be forever etched in my mind.
“Thank you God for allowing me to use my platform to be part of the positive change.
“What a moving experience for the Jarrad Ricketts Foundation to give back in this way during these uncertain times.
“Covid-19 has affected all of us and this just reiterated that we are all in this
together.
“As much as we are in social distancing, we must remember to always reach out in other ways to support and assist each other.”
