One hundred golden oldies were treated to a lekker party thanks to Metro Police and a Delft mom who is known to feed matriculants breakfast before their exams.
Wilhemina Heynes, 60, appeared in Daily Voice last month when she opened up her Delft home to 15 matric pupils from Leiden and Rosendal High School to feed them to help prepare them mentally and physically for their exams.
On Tuesday, Wilhemina was at it again with the assistance of Metro Police, City Health and other organisations, and hosted a party for 100 elderly community members who were treated to a meal, a gift, a play and even some dancing.
The event was held at the Nelson Mandela Peace Park.

“They were shown a play about drug use inside the house and how it affects the family, especially the elderly,” says Wilhemina.
“We also invited City Health who did HIV/Aids screening, and diabetes and high blood check-ups.
“They were also given a talk by Metro police on their role in the community.”
