My hubby wed wife number 5

A Bonteheuwel pensioner has been left with an empty kitchen, an empty bed and a fat fine after her hubby left her “to go rest”.

She then received an even bigger shock when she learnt that he married another woman — his fifth wife — on Facebook.

Now Faldiela Afrika, 66, wants to warn women not to fall for Mogamat Cassiem Schloss’ gladde bek, calling him a “leach who preys on lonely widows”.

The ouma says she married Cassiem, 75, six years ago, after she converted to Islam.

“Last year we were happy. He treated me well, it was amazing,” she says.

“It was until the council came to do electrical inspections that it went south.

“Cassiem had bypassed the electrical box without me knowing and when the council came, I got a R5 000 fine.

“Because of the ‘stress’ he said he would be going away to rest for two months.

“He left on December 10, and then I found out on Facebook that he got married last week!”

Faldiela says to make matters worse, Cassiem took the freezer and stove that he gave her as wedding gifts.

The pensioner says she has to foot the bill after her runaway husband moved in with his new wife in Pelican Park.

“She is in her early 60s, but she looks younger. He mos likes them young; she is his fifth wife.”

“I am only a pensioner, now I have to pay this fine.

“I converted to Islam for him and he does this?”

“ Hy’s ‘n gemors, hy soek net vrouens met huise, hy’s ‘n gold-digger!” she warns.

However, when the Daily Voice contacted Cassiem, he denied lying to Faldiela and said he left her because he was “not appreciated”.

“Yes, I did get married again and, yes, I do reside in Pelican Park now,” he admitted.

“The reason I left her is because of what her children and grandchildren did. They put nasty things of me on Facebook and my own children were upset.

“I worked and I was good for them, but they wanted to clean me out, never appreciative of what I did.

“I did my utmost to give, give and give and they just got, got and forgot.

“Faldiela has a stinking attitude. I was gone for two weeks and my son sent her a prayer mat and Qur’an and she sent it back, sy insult mos my religion.

“I am no gold-digger. I have eight children and eight houses I can go to. That woman is a liar.

“The bypass I did five years ago and paid R1 500 towards the fine. I told her she must get her children and their boyfriends to pay the rest.”
