A 14-year-old girl, who was previously beaten up in class by a boy at Livingstone High has been knocked out at school again.

The girl’s single mother says she got a message from her daughter’s new Grade 8 teacher last Wednesday, informing her that her child had hit her head when she fell.

The mom says she had someone fetch her daughter from the Claremont school immediately, but was horrified when the girl told her she had been walking when someone pushed her from behind and had beaten her till she passed out.

In August, a video of the girl being assaulted in her classroom made headlines.

At the time, the meisie said she was defending her friend, who had allegedly been “touched inappropriately” by the boy.

She said the boy pushed her friend and when she intervened, he first punched her in the face before viciously beating her up

Her mother says there were four different fighting incidents at the school on Wednesday where Grade 8 girls were beaten up by a group of Grade 11 girls.

“These girls have apparently been terrorising the younger girls and making school hell,’ the mom says.

“My daughter does not even know who hit her.”

“I went to see the school on Thursday and they have again assured me they will look into the matter, but I have yet to see any results from the first incident.”

Western Cape Education Department spokesperson Millicent Merton says: “The school has reported a fight between learners on Wednesday to our district office. The learners’ parents were called in and an investigation is underway.”
