Meatrite Butchery in Kraaifontein robbed by thugs on Friday morning Meatrite Butchery in Kraaifontein robbed by thugs on Friday morning
Brazen skelms got away with an undisclosed amount of cash after robbing a butchery in Kraaifontein on Friday.
They even brought a backpack for the money and witnesses say after the robbery, they casually walked out of the well-known butchery along Van Riebeeck Street in the Block Centre.
A 38-year-old Meatrite butchery customer explains: “The shop opened just after 8 am and several neatly dressed men entered the butchery.
"I was just about to go into the butchery myself when I noticed there was drama. The men came walking out quickly with a black bag.
"I heard afterwards that they hit the manager over the head and demanded the safe be opened for them. They also took the hard drive from the security cameras with them.
"But I understand they were caught on the cameras of other businesses in the vicinity. The people in the store were panicking but no one else was injured.”
Captain FC van Wyk explains: “This office can confirm that Kraaifontein SAPS is investigating a case of business robbery.
