'I will kill cops' threatens dik ding's son

Ottery gangsters have threatened to kill Cape Flats cops after the son of an alleged gang boss was injured in a shootout with police on Saturday.

Grassy Park Police Station’s commander, Colonel Dawood Laing, says cops were forced to use stun grenades to disperse the angry mob which pelted cops with stones as they helped three gun-wielding skollies escape arrest in Ottery.

He says shortly after 11pm the K9 Unit was patrolling Lotus River when they spotted a suspicious silver Toyota Etios.

“Two [men] jumped in the car and they thought cops were there for them and they sped away.

“The officers chased them along the M5 and through Hyde Road. They opened fire on police and officers returned fire, injuring three men.

“When they came to a stop in Daniel Road, officers attempted to apprehend the gunmen but the community threw stones and helped the skollies escape with the vehicle and the guns.”

Laing says when cops went to Victoria Hospital to

find the skollies, they came across the 26-year-old son of the man known as Du Plooy, the alleged leader of the Mongrels gang.

“He was shot multiple times and was transferred to Groote Schuur Hospital in a critical condition. While at the hospital, his brother threatened officers, telling them if his brother died they were going to kill the officers.

“Du Plooy is the leader of the Mongrels in Ottery and smokkels with guns and drugs.

“We have opened an intimidation case against his other son. There were two others, aged 18 and 25, at Victoria Hospital. The teen was shot in the foot and arm and the 25-year-old had a flesh wound near his eye.”
