Detectives at Philippi Police Station had their hands full when they were called to two scenes where the bodies of two men were found yesterday in Schaapkraal.

The body of an unknown man believed to be in his early thirties was discovered lying in the middle of the street between Schaap Road and 13th Avenue.

Police have opened a case of culpable homicide for a hit-and-run incident, as it is believed the man had been knocked over by a vehicle and that the driver had fled the scene.

At the second scene, the body of a black male was found floating in a dam on a farm in Schaapkraal.

Cops believe the man to be in his twenties, and it is understood he had drowned.

SHOCK: Body in a dam Police spokesperson, Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana says an inquest docket has been opened for investigation: “A death inquest case is opened for investigation after a body of an unidentified man in his twenties was found at a farm in Schaapkraal.

“The circumstances surrounding this information are under investigation.”
