IN HER STRIDE: Aby oppie catwalk
A Mitchells Plain woman is pleading for the safe return of her beloved five-month-old puppy, Meela, who was stolen from their Highlands Village home.
Lana Petersen, 38, says she adopted the black and white husky in June.
The mom of three says she was busy changing her toddler’s nappy on Friday afternoon when she heard her gate opening.
“My neighbours spotted two men. The suspect who took her had a black pitbull on a chain with him. My dog is microchipped.
“She was seen again outside a gym the next day, where one of the suspects was apparently attempting to sell her.
“The police are now working to retrieve the footage from the gym,” says Petersen.
The disheartened dog lover says: “Police say this is the fourth dog reported stolen.
Police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk says no arrests have been made: “This office can confirm that Lentegeur Police are investigating a case of theft after a dog was taken by an unknown suspect on Friday at around 5pm.”
Lana says she’s willing to offer a reward for information that would lead to Meela being found.
