LEKKER DITE: Celeste April shows what’s on Las Vegas Lounge’s menu
The next time you go out for a jol at Las Vegas Lounge, don’t be surprised if you walk in to find people sitting down to a dite.
The tables have literally turned, with the Westridge nightclub set to relaunch as a restaurant next week.
Owner Celeste April is introducing the new restaurant to the public next week Tuesday.
It’s a first for the 42-year-old mother of two, who has spent over 20 years in the nightclub industry.
“My parents have owned clubs since I was a young girl. When I turned 18, I worked in the clubs until now.
“My husband and I have owned this club for the past eight years and we’ve been through various trials, but we were never prepared for what the Covid-19 pandemic brought on us.
“We were hit in a different direction due to Covid because as a nightclub, we cannot operate or recover until the lockdown is completely lifted.
“But because of that, we took the detour to start up a full-on restaurant, nice soft music and a table seating vibe, where people can choose from a buffet menu.”
Celeste says the restaurant will operate daily from Tuesday to Saturday, from the morning until 11pm.
“We will be sharing all the detailed information of menus on our Facebook page, but we will also be focusing a lot on Mexican food.”
Celeste says they will also be doing meal prep for mense who are unable to cook during the week.
“On Tuesday nights we will have ‘huis kos aand’, where you get a lekker bredie, a cottage pie, liver and mash, the hearty warm stews, which is lekker for a collection to take home to heat and eat.”
Celeste says: “On Wednesdays the menu will be carvery with a dessert included, on Thursday nights there will be a seafood menu, on Friday and Saturday there will be the usual pub foods such as wings and ribs. On Saturday mornings we will have a breakfast menu from 7am.”
She says customers must place their bookings two days before via WhatsApp on 063 404 2436.
