A skelm, who tried to rob a security guard in Mitchells Plain, saw his gat when the man’s wakker colleagues chased him and caught him.

The incident occurred just after 5am yesterday opposite Highlands primary in Lentegeur.

The guard, who works for a security armed response company, was waiting for his transport when the skelm innocently approached him asking for an entjie.

According to a colleague, the guard gave the skelm the cigarette, who then demanded his belongings.

“He pulled out a zip gun and demanded the guard to hand over his phone, rings and wallet,” says the colleague.

“He became violent when he discovered the guard doesn’t have his wallet.

“The skelm rukked out a mes and stabbed him on his hand and wrist.”

He says he and another armed response officer gave chase and caught the skelm within five minutes.

“We came from Highlands Drive towards Colorado Park and the guard informed us about what just happened. We chased the guy and caught him with the zip gun.”
