A Bonteheuwel mother accused of manufacturing and selling child pornography involving her own kids, will sit in the mang after her case was again postponed on Wednesday as the investigation is ongoing.

The arrest of the 32-year-old mother of five sent shockwaves through the Bonteheuwel community after it was revealed that she had sold pictures and videos depicting her four-year-old daughter in sexual acts to paedophiles in America.

She was investigated by the US Homeland Security Department along with the Western Cape Serial and Electronic Crimes Investigations (SECI) Unit and busted at her home in Bluegum Street where cops confiscated computers and other equipment used by the mom.

Last month, a source revealed that the woman used all her five children, including an 18-month-old baby, to make the pornographic material and the state was considering adding rape charges to the case.

Standing in a white jacket and face mask in the dock, the mom appeared briefly at the Bishop Lavis Magistrates’ Court where the case was postponed to 17 November for further investigations.

Proceedings were attended by residents and Bonteheuwel Ward councillor Angus McKenzie, who vowed to fight for justice for the children.

“A young girl and her siblings are struggling with the after effects of what her mother is alleged to have done to her,” said McKenzie.

“We have to ensure that not only does this lady stay behind bars, but that this case puts such pressure and leaves such a strong message that this abuse and sort of allegations cannot be tolerated in our community.

“We will be back here again and the justice system will know that as a community we will not allow gender-based violence and the hurting of our children.”
