Cape Flats rapper Marcelino Rossouw, aka K-Nine Die Hond, has now been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing two men at a party.

The 29-year-old appeared briefly in the Mitchells Plain Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

The father of one was arrested in front of his six-year-old son and relatives on Tuesday at his Portlands home.

The incident happened at a party in Rocklands on Saturday night.

A case of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm was initially opened but has since been changed to attempted murder.

K-Nine, who is famous for his songs F** Die Mapuza, You aint shhhh and Gengste, told Daily Voice he thought he was going to be killed when five men moered him at the Kittyhawk jol after he refused to dice with one of them.

The two men who laid the charge claim he was beating up their cousin and when they intervened, the rapper first wanted to shoot them and then he stabbed them.

The Daily Voice was denied access to the rapper’s court appearance and Court Manager Safieka Davids explained that a second person might be arrested soon.

“Access was denied in the Rossouw matter due to the identity parade of the accused No.2 still being outstanding.”

The case was postponed to 30 November for bail while K-Nine was sent to Pollsmoor Prison.

K-Nine’s 54-year-old mother said they were devastated by the attempted murder charge as it is much more serious.

“I depend on Marcelino to work so we can have food on the table, I don’t know what will happen if he is not here for us.

“This is his first time in a courtroom, his first time in the holding cells and now he goes to Pollsmoor, also a first.”

Marcelino’s friend, Salveno Brawood from Brasse In The Wood fame, supported the family.

“I was here since 7.30am. He was still wearing the same clothes he was arrested in, a sweater, track pants and sneakers,” he said.
