Porn mom set for trial

OBSCENE: Mom made child porn

A Bonteheuwel mom accused of manufacturing and selling child pornography will go on trial at the Parow Regional court next year.

This was revealed at the Bishop Lavis Magistrates’ Court this week where the 32-year-old woman learned how the case will proceed.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that the woman allegedly sold pictures and videos depicting her own children in sexual acts to paedophiles in America.

The arrest of the woman, who initially sold pictures of herself, sent shockwaves through the Cape Flats after she was busted at her home in Bluegum Street.

She had been investigated by the US Homeland Security Department along with the Western Cape Serial and Electronic Crimes Investigations (SECI) Unit and cops confiscated computers as well as other equipment used by the mom.

A source revealed that the mother of five used all her children, including an 18-month-old baby, to make the pornographic material and the state was considering adding rape charges to the case.

Ward councillor, Angus McKenzie, says the community was happy to hear that the charges against her had now been finalised.

“I welcome the decision taken by the Department of Public Prosecutions to transfer the case against a mother who allegedly sexually assaulted and sold pictures of her children on the dark web,” he said.

“This is progress in this long outstanding matter.

“Justice delayed is indeed justice denied and we sincerely hope that at her next court appearance on 1 February 2022 at the Parow Regional Court, the court will not only take the evidence into consideration but also the community’s frustration.”
